Meta has announced updates to its AI assistant, Meta AI, expanding access to 22 countries, including Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Mexico, Peru and Cameroon.

In addition to the rollout, Meta AI now supports new languages including French, German, Hindi (including Romanised), Italian, Portuguese and Spanish, significantly widening its global reach.

Meta AI is available across WhatsApp, Instagram, Messenger, Facebook, and meta.ai, helping users get answers, generate creative content, and accomplish tasks faster. The assistant is updated every two weeks based on user feedback to improve usability and introduce new features.

A new feature, “Imagine me”, is now rolling out in beta in the US, allowing users to generate AI images of themselves based on custom prompts using Meta’s latest personalisation model. Users can type prompts like “Imagine me as royalty” or “Imagine me on a beach vacation”, transforming selfies into creative artworks.

Meta is also introducing new image editing features, letting users add, remove or change elements in AI-generated visuals. A new “Edit with AI” button will soon allow more fine-tuned modifications. Users can create these images directly in-app, with integration into posts, comments, and stories on Facebook and Instagram.

Meta AI now incorporates Llama 405B, Meta’s most advanced open-source language model. It enables enhanced capabilities for math problem solving, code generation, and debugging support, allowing users to tackle technical questions directly in Meta AI chats on WhatsApp and meta.ai.

Users can generate code for video games, optimise it, and even integrate themselves into the game using a combination of coding and AI image generation.

Beyond mobile and web, Meta AI is also coming to Meta Quest headsets in the US and Canada in experimental mode. It will replace traditional voice commands, offering hands-free interaction, contextual understanding via Passthrough Vision, and real-time recommendations based on the physical environment.

Users will be able to ask Meta AI about the weather, outfit suggestions, or local places while in mixed reality. These updates reflect Meta’s rapid push toward embedding AI across its ecosystem and enhancing user experience through intelligent, personalised, and creative features.
