CoreWeave, an AI hyperscaler, has announced an agreement to acquire Monolith AI, expanding its AI cloud platform into the industrial and manufacturing sectors. The deal aims to strengthen CoreWeave’s presence in industries such as automotive, aerospace and advanced manufacturing.

While the terms of the deal were not disclosed, the acquisition will combine Monolith’s machine learning tools for physics and engineering challenges with CoreWeave’s AI cloud infrastructure.

“Every leader we meet across the industrial and manufacturing sectors knows AI can transform their business,” said Brian Venturo, co-founder and chief strategy officer at CoreWeave. “Together we will help these enterprises better harness AI to accelerate breakthroughs and bring better products to market faster.”

The companies said the acquisition will provide industrial users with a full-stack platform to shorten research cycles, enhance product design and accelerate development. The transaction also remains subject to customary closing conditions.

Monolith’s founder and CEO, Richard Ahlfeld, said joining CoreWeave would expand the company’s mission. “Monolith was founded to put AI directly into the hands of engineers…Together we will bring powerful tools and domain expertise to thousands more builders across industries who are eager to use AI but lack the infrastructure and know-how,” he said.

Monolith’s platform is already in use by firms such as Nissan, BMW and Honeywell to reduce development cycles. Its tools include anomaly detection, test plan optimisation and test recommendations to reduce physical testing and accelerate decision-making.

CoreWeave has recently acquired Core Scientific, OpenPipe and Weights & Biases to support reinforcement learning and model tracking. The company also serves as the official AI cloud computing partner of the Aston Martin Aramco F1 Team.
