HCL has unveiled VisionX 2.0, an upgraded version of its multi-modal AI edge platform developed in collaboration with NVIDIA. The platform is designed to deliver real-time intelligence, enhanced safety and operational efficiency for mission-critical industrial environments.
It integrates advanced computer vision, vision language models (VLMs), multi-modal fusion and edge-optimised generative AI. VisionX 2.0 is powered by NVIDIA’s physical AI computing stack, including Blueprint for video search and summarisation (VSS), DeepStream, Cosmos-Reason VLM and TAO for post-training vision models.
It is mainly designed for high-demand industrial use cases. VisionX 2.0 enables real-time inference at the edge using NVIDIA Jetson systems, RTX PRO 6000 Blackwell GPUs and Dell NativeEdge deployments. This eliminates bandwidth bottlenecks, safeguards data privacy, and supports sensitive industrial operations.
The platform’s multimodal AIoT engine can analyse video, audio, images and LiDAR inputs, stereo cameras, and IoT telemetry streams to detect events, anomalies, safety violations, and risks with superior accuracy. It also has a VSS Event reviewer, which checks whether computer vision clips are sent to Cosmos Reason to detect false positives, engage in additional NLP-based reasoning to deliver scene-level insights, and boost decision-making confidence.
Vision X 2.0 features Zero-Trust architecture and Zero-Touch Provisioning on Dell NativeEdge OS for secure, scalable rollouts across distributed sites. It is compatible with existing cameras, video management systems, and sensors via a robust, flexible Integration layer.
“With VisionX 2.0, HCLTech is redefining how intelligence is delivered at the industrial edge,” said Vijay Guntur, CTO and Head of Ecosystems at HCLTech. “By combining deep expertise in secure edge engineering, enables enterprises to move from reactive monitoring to real-time, trusted decision-making agents without compromising on security or performance.”
Deepu Talla, vice president, Robotics and Edge AI at NVIDIA, noted, “The next wave of industrial transformation is being driven by Physical AI.”
HCLTech’s Physical AI portfolio strengthens the power of Kinetic AI (Cognitive Robotics), autonomous systems and Edge AI to drive productivity, resilience and sustainability in real-world environments.
