Google has completed the acquisition of cloud security platform Wiz, integrating the New York-based cybersecurity company into Google Cloud as the tech giant deepens its focus on securing AI-driven cloud infrastructure.
The deal was first announced in March 2025. According to TechCrunch, the deal is worth $32 billion.
Wiz will continue operating under its existing brand while supporting security across multiple cloud environments.
Google said the combined capabilities will help organisations detect, prevent, and respond to cyber threats faster, particularly those emerging from AI-powered attacks.
Wiz’s platform connects cloud infrastructure, code, and runtime environments into a unified security layer. The company is widely used by large enterprises, with customers including Shell, BMW, Salesforce, and Morgan Stanley. It has over 30 enterprise customers in India, according to ET.
According to Google, the platform complements its own infrastructure and AI-powered threat intelligence tools. By integrating Wiz into its cloud ecosystem, Google aims to build a unified security platform capable of monitoring threats across the entire application lifecycle—from development to deployment and runtime operations.
“Keeping people safe online has always been part of Google’s mission,” Sundar Pichai, CEO of Google, said in a statement. He added that the integration will help organisations “innovate with confidence” as they expand their use of generative AI and cloud computing.
Thomas Kurian, CEO of Google Cloud, noted that the acquisition will help simplify security in multicloud environments. “We want to make security a catalyst for innovation, not a barrier,” he said.
A key aspect of the deal is Wiz’s continued support for multiple cloud providers. Google confirmed the platform will remain compatible with major cloud ecosystems, including Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, and Oracle Cloud, in addition to Google Cloud.
Wiz CEO Assaf Rappaport said the partnership will accelerate the company’s mission to protect cloud environments at scale. With Google’s AI capabilities and infrastructure, he said the platform can better identify vulnerabilities and prevent breaches before they occur.
