Infosys has secured a long-term IT transformation mandate from Finnish industrial technology company Valmet, as enterprises increasingly turn to artificial intelligence to modernise technology operations and improve efficiency.
Under the partnership announced on June 16, the IT services major will modernise Valmet’s core IT services and deliver end-to-end IT transformation to enhance operational efficiency and enable closer alignment between IT operations and business priorities.
Financial details of the deal were not disclosed.
The engagement will see Infosys deploy its AI platform, Topaz, and cloud suite, Cobalt, to automate and optimise IT operations, improve issue resolution and strengthen operational resilience across Valmet’s technology landscape.
The deal highlights how large technology services firms are repositioning traditional infrastructure management contracts around AI-led transformation, pitching automation and predictive operations as a way for clients to lower costs and improve business agility.
Valmet, which provides technology, automation and services to process industries, said the initiative aims to create a more resilient and scalable digital foundation to support its long-term growth strategy. The company reported net sales of about €5.2 billion in 2025 and employs around 18,500 people globally.
Infosys said the programme would leverage a human-in-the-loop approach to AI deployment, enabling governance and oversight while embedding intelligence across IT operations.
“In today’s rapidly evolving business landscape, enterprises must embrace AI-first, business-aligned, and future-ready ecosystems to unlock value at scale. Our collaboration with Valmet exemplifies Infosys’ commitment to driving transformative outcomes by leveraging the power of Infosys Topaz and Infosys Cobalt,” Jasmeet Singh, Executive Vice President and Global Head of Manufacturing, Infosys, said in a statement.
