Anthropic has added interactive work tools directly inside Claude conversations, allowing users to open, view and act on third-party apps without switching tabs.
“Claude already connects to your tools and takes actions on your behalf. Now those tools show up right in the conversation, so you can see what’s happening and collaborate in real time,” the company said in a blog post.
The rollout covers several enterprise and productivity tools, including Amplitude, Hex, Asana, monday.com, Box, Canva, Figma, Clay and Slack. Users can build project timelines in Asana, draft and preview Slack messages, and create diagrams in Figma directly within Claude.
Salesforce integration is expected to arrive soon.
Anthropic said the change builds on its existing ability to connect to tools and take actions on a user’s behalf. The company added the tools appear directly in the chat, allowing users to work with data, make changes, and complete tasks without leaving the conversation.
The new capability is built on the Model Context Protocol (MCP), an open standard created to connect AI applications with external tools. The company said it has introduced MCP Apps, an extension that allows any MCP server to deliver an interactive interface within any AI product that supports the standard, not just Claude.
“We open sourced MCP to give the ecosystem a universal way to connect tools to AI,” the company said. “Now we’re extending MCP further so developers can build interactive UI on top of it, wherever their users are.”
Interactive tools are available on web and desktop versions of Claude for Pro, Max, Team and Enterprise plans. Users can access them through the Claude app directory, with support for Claude Cowork planned for a later release.
