Databricks, the Data and AI company, has announced that Synapxe has selected Databricks to power its Health Empowerment through Advanced Learning & Intelligent eXchange (HEALIX, a comprehensive cloud-based analytics platform for the entire public healthcare sector.
Both organisations have also signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to unlock healthcare innovation and train data and AI talent within the country’s healthcare industry. The agreement was announced at Synapxe’s flagship AI event, AI Accelerate Conference 2025.
HEALIX brings together the public healthcare sector’s data needs on a single platform, and opens up collaborative possibilities and efficiencies to reap the benefits of data-driven insights and AI. This partnership will promote the adoption of AI and skills transformations within public healthcare institutions in Singapore.
Key initiatives include fostering experimentation and adoption of AI use cases through a Data and AI Factory, co-developing predictive care use cases and integrating Databricks’ AI capabilities into HEALIX’s platform.
The adoption of the Databricks Data Intelligence Platform will enable HEALIX to support analytical insights, enhanced security, and data democratisation with a scalable infrastructure. The platform will play a role in unlocking AI use cases to improve care outcomes, streamline resource allocation, and enhance patient safety.
“HEALIX provides a single platform for public healthcare users to gain access to a comprehensive set of data, said Andy Ta, Director of Data Analytics and AI, and Chief Data Officer at Synapxe. “With leading-edge cloud-native tools, HEALIX enables the rapid development, deployment and scaling of AI models within a collaborative and cost-effective manner.”
“We work closely with our partners, such as Databricks, to continuously enhance the capabilities of HEALIX, empowering the whole of public healthcare in leveraging data-driven insights to deliver positive impact for health in Singapore.”
Databricks will support the training and certification of public healthcare professionals over the next three years through the HEALIX Data and AI Academy. Professionals in Singapore’s public healthcare entities completing this program will obtain Databricks certifications and accreditations.
This is part of a broader effort to build data and AI talent in Singapore’s healthcare sector through sustained training and upskilling.
“This partnership comes at a pivotal time as Singapore faces an ageing population, increasing pressure on its public healthcare system and an unprecedented surge in data complexity,” said Cecily Ng, Vice President and General Manager for ASEAN and GCR at Databricks.
“With global healthcare data growing faster than any other industry, the need for a unified, intelligent platform has never been more urgent.”
“By combining Synapxe’s deep healthcare expertise with our open and scalable Data Intelligence Platform, we are proud to support the nation’s vision of a future-ready healthcare system, one that uses AI not just to react, but to anticipate and transform care outcomes.“
The Databricks Data Intelligence Platform democratises access to data and AI, making it easier for organisations to harness the power of their data for analytics, machine learning, and AI applications.
The platform is built on a foundation of unified data and governance that helps customers develop AI agents with domain knowledge drawn from the entirety of their enterprise more easily.
