Chinese video and image editing platform, CapCut, has partnered with Google Gemini to bring AI-powered editing tools directly into the Gemini app, allowing users to edit photos and videos without leaving the AI assistant platform.

The announcement was made through a post on X where CapCut said users will “soon” be able to access its creative editing capabilities within Gemini. The company added that it sees the future of content creation becoming “more conversational, intuitive and intelligently integrated across tools and experiences.”

While the companies have not revealed detailed features or a release timeline, the integration is expected to allow Gemini users to modify, enhance, or edit visual content using CapCut’s existing AI-powered editing suite.

CapCut, owned by Chinese tech company ByteDance, already offers several AI-driven tools including automatic video editing, AI image generation, templates, effects, subtitles, and smart visual enhancements. Over the past year, the platform has increasingly focused on AI-assisted content creation as competition among editing and generative AI platforms grows.

The partnership also signals Google’s continued push to expand Gemini beyond a text-based AI assistant into a broader creative ecosystem. By integrating third-party editing tools directly into Gemini, Google appears to be positioning the platform closer to AI-powered creative workflows that combine generation, editing, and publishing within a single experience.

This is not the first collaboration between Google and CapCut. In late 2025, Google Photos introduced an “Edit with CapCut” feature within its annual photo recap tool, allowing users to export photos directly to CapCut using customised templates.

The latest partnership expands that relationship further by bringing CapCut’s editing capabilities closer to Gemini’s AI interface.
